welcome to march…

hey!! as always, thanks for being here and for your support of (k)nots! this past month has been all about some behind the scenes work. i did a small website audit with a branding/business coach and took a lot of time to update and reconfigure my website, which i am very excited about. i also did a deep clean of my office and work space, which always feels so refreshing. with the warm weather and the sun shining - i am ready for the next item on the list, which is gearing up for market season! xo - kerri

i currently offer about 30 different colors and use 4 different styles of cord, so organization is a must! when you are a creative maker and working from home, it is hard for your “work” not to take over the rest of your house. im working on it, but having a organized and fun work space has helped so much!

did you know??

i am a substitute teacher at easter preschool in eagan? all of my kids attended this school and i have been so lucky to stay connected with the staff and community over the years.

it’s a play-based preschool, and one of the most important components is “loose parts,” which simply means giving kids everyday materials and letting their imaginations lead the way. this open ended play without parameters fosters creativity, fine motor skills, and problem solving!

i save all of the cardboard tubes from my cord rolls and bring them into the classroom, and it’s so fun to see how they’re used. i’ve watched the kids turn them into so many things. some being marble chutes, wands, musical instruments, and painting tools.

this photo is from a group project where the kids dipped the tubes in paint and stamped them onto paper. simple, creative, and so much fun.

wristlets are my best seller — and honestly, my favorite piece to make. they are simple, practical, and come in so many great colors.

katie, from katie white designs, is a dear friend with a pretty incredible heart — kind of literally. she began learning her craft of clay jewelry while waiting for a heart transplant in 2022, and officially started her company during recovery. her earrings are amazing — i can say that firsthand, because i have a pretty solid collection myself. she has been a little quiet lately because she and mr. katie white recently became foster parents. she’s been pouring her time and energy into loving a set of four beautiful sisters. see what i mean? incredible heart.
